Everyone is talking about how AI is raising the bar—
how “senior is the new entry level” and developers are under pressure.
But I think the real shift isn’t about skill level.
It’s about execution.
AI can write code faster.
It can suggest solutions.
But it still can’t:
Decide priorities
Align teams
Own outcomes
Execute consistently
What AI is actually exposing are execution gaps inside teams.
Many teams don’t struggle because developers aren’t good enough.
They struggle because work is:
Poorly scoped
Poorly owned
Poorly followed up
AI amplifies speed—but without clear execution systems, speed just creates more chaos.
The teams that will win aren’t the ones with the “best AI tools.”
They’re the ones that can turn ideas into action, clearly and repeatedly.
Execution is becoming the real senior skill.
