I recently launched Nourly, a calorie tracking app designed to make logging food as simple as possible.
Most calorie apps are overloaded with features, complicated databases, and slow search systems. I wanted something faster and more natural — an app where you can simply type what you ate and get an estimated calorie breakdown instantly.
That’s where Apple Intelligence comes in.
Nourly uses Apple’s on-device intelligence to interpret natural language food entries. Instead of searching a database for individual ingredients, you can just type something like:
“Chicken fajita wrap with peppers and sauce”
The app then estimates the calories and nutritional information automatically. Everything happens directly on the device, so it’s fast and private.
The goal with Nourly is not to replace every advanced nutrition tracker, but to make calorie tracking frictionless for people who just want quick daily awareness of what they’re eating.
Some core ideas behind the app:
• Natural language food logging
• AI-assisted calorie estimation
• Fast, minimal interface
• Built entirely as a native iOS app
• Privacy-first (no cloud processing for food entries)
I built the app using Swift and SwiftUI, focusing heavily on keeping the experience clean and simple.
Nourly is one of several products I’m building under TIZZLE, a small product engineering studio where I create apps, tools, and experimental software projects.
You can learn more about the studio here:

If you’re interested in trying the app, you can download Nourly on the App Store. By heading to https://nourly.tizzle.org
I’ll also be writing more about the technical side of building the app — including how Apple Intelligence can be used for real-world product features.
Note: The app is in beta and support for Apple Intelligence is limited right now.
