Debugging often starts with the same frustrating workflow:
Copy error → open Google → search Stack Overflow → inspect five different answers → try three fixes → repeat.
So I built TraceFix, a developer-focused web application designed to make that process much faster.
TraceFix combines an error-search interface with an AI workspace where developers can paste compiler errors, runtime exceptions, stack traces, or broken code and get a structured explanation of what went wrong and how to fix it.

This isn't designed as a client-side Gemini wrapper.

### Developer experience
I wanted the interface to feel closer to a serious developer tool than a typical AI chatbot.
The UI focuses on:
* Fast error searching
* Language filtering
* Structured explanations
* Root-cause analysis
* Fix recommendations
* Syntax-highlighted code
* Copy-to-clipboard
* Streaming AI responses
* Responsive developer workspace
No unnecessary gamification or childish UI — just a clean workspace built around debugging.
### Security was a major part of the project
The API layer validates the Clerk session before processing requests, checks subscription state server-side, applies rate limiting, and only then communicates with Gemini.
Stripe webhook signatures are verified using the raw request body before subscription state is updated.
### What's next?
The next iteration can connect TraceFix to real developer knowledge sources such as:

* Official language documentation
* Package documentation
* A RAG-based error knowledge base
The goal is to combine **AI reasoning + real-world solutions + official documentation** instead of relying solely on model knowledge.
