How to make the First Time in a Fancy Cafe AI video: 4 ways compared (2026)

If you have scrolled TikTok this month you have seen it: someone perches on a tiny round cafe table as if it were a chair, a guest walks in and sits on the bench the right way, and the first person slowly slides down and acts like nothing happened. The caption is "POV: Your first time in a fancy cafe". The version that went viral is by @leehoustonx (TikTok, November 2026).

Now everyone wants their own. I built one of the tools below, so I will say so up front. Prices and pages were checked on 8 November 2026.

1. Film it yourself

Price: free. Best for: friends who will play along.

You need a cafe-looking corner, a very low table, a friend as the guest and a phone on a stand. It is the closest to the original, but the timing is hard: the slide-down has to look deadpan, and most real cafes will not let you stand on their furniture. Do it at home and keep each take short.

2. A CapCut template

Price: free to use; a template marked Pro needs CapCut Pro to export without a watermark.

Search "your first time in a fancy cafe template" inside CapCut or TikTok. A template drops your photo into someone else's clip, so it is the quickest way to get something to post. The trade-off is sameness: everyone using that template gets nearly the same video, and photos that do not match the original framing can look off.

3. MakeViral

Price: credit-based. Its pricing page lists a $9.99 weekly plan with 130 credits and a $39.99 one-time pack; the "First Time Fancy Cafe" template costs credits per video, shown before you pay.

MakeViral is a library of trend templates, so it is a good pick if you want this trend and a dozen others from one account. I did not test whether this particular template accepts pet photos, so open its template page before paying.

4. Fancy Cafe AI (my site)

Price: a 10-second 480p video is $3.99, a 15-second 720p video is $9.99, and credit packs start at $9.99. There is no free tier.

Fancy Cafe AI makes a new 9:16 clip from your photos instead of editing the original video. Upload one photo and choose whether you are the one on the table or the guest; add a second photo to cast both. The MP4 has no watermark and comes back in a few minutes. It runs in the browser, one video needs no account, and it uses ByteDance Seedance 2.0 under the hood.

Weak points: it costs money, clips are 10 or 15 seconds, and a blurry or cropped photo gives a worse result. Use a sharp, well-lit photo where the whole person is visible.

Which one should you pick?

  • You want the real thing and have a patient friend: film it.
  • You want it free and fast and do not mind a shared look: a CapCut template.
  • You want many trends from one place: MakeViral.
  • You want a video of yourself in this specific trend from one photo, with the price shown up front: Fancy Cafe AI.

A note on photos

Only use pictures of yourself or adults who agreed to appear. Fancy Cafe AI does not accept photos of children or public figures and labels every video as AI-generated. It is not affiliated with the meme's creators, TikTok or CapCut.

If you have a different way of making this trend, tell me in the comments and I will add it to the list.
