The Problem I Was Solving
I care about eating healthy, but sometimes I need the convenience of fast food. The problem? Standing in line at Chipotle or McDonald's, hungry and pressed for time, with no idea what to order that won't blow my calorie budget.
I'd either:
- Spend 5+ minutes frantically Googling nutrition PDFs (while people behind me get annoyed)
- Make a rushed guess that doesn't align with my goals
- Just order my usual high-calorie meal and regret it later

The Solution: OrderSafe
So I built OrderSafe - a web app that gives you instant recommendations for healthier options at popular fast food chains.

How it works:
- Select your restaurant (Chick-fil-A, McDonald's, Subway, Chipotle, or Taco Bell)
- See the best option to stay on track
- View alternatives and what to avoid
- Get key nutrition info (protein, calories, full breakdown)
All based on fact-checked data from official restaurant nutrition pages.
The Build
Tech Stack:
- Built with Base44 (no-code platform)

- No signup required, works on mobile
Biggest Challenge:
Collecting and fact-checking all the nutrition data. Restaurants don't make it easy - I spent hours cross-referencing official nutrition pages to ensure accuracy.
Why No-Code:
I wanted to ship fast and validate the idea before investing months in custom development. Base44 let me go from idea to beta quickly.
Current Status
🧪 Beta testing now - looking for honest feedback from ~100 people.
What I need help with:
- Is this actually useful or just solving my weird problem?
- What's confusing about the UX?

What's Next
Based on early feedback, here's the roadmap:
- More restaurants (In-N-Out, Panera, Wendy's top requests)
- Dietary filters (vegetarian, low-carb, high-protein, etc.)
- Personalized recommendations based on specific goals
- Meal modifications and customizations
- Possibly a premium tier with detailed nutrition coaching
But first: validate that people actually find this useful!
