Under the hood
A Z-Channel is an address on the BitcoinZ blockchain rather than a row in a company's database. Posting to a channel is a transaction — each broadcast is written to the chain itself, not to a server you have to trust. Content and identity are protected using zk-SNARKs zero-knowledge proofs combined with AES-256-GCM encryption, with post-quantum protection (ML-KEM-768, ML-DSA-65) layered on top. Because the channel lives on-chain, there's no central database for a platform to lock, no admin panel for a company to disable, and no account that expires if a business decides to shut down. Recovery works the same way as the rest of Z-TEXT: a single 24-word seed phrase restores your channel, identity, and wallet together.
