You can buy a Nordic Semiconductor NRF52840-DONGLE.
There you can try out different bluetooth profiles through the graphical application (plugged into the same computer, even) or flash it and make a simple standalone device with just power. It has built in LEDs and a button, you don't have to solder anything to play around.
