Job hunting is the most frustrating job, period! You can spend hours searching for openings, trying to find a position that actually fits your skills and experience.
Trust me, I have been through the same. But what if you could cut out all that searching and let Claude find relevant job openings for you? Sounds great, right?
The best part is that you can set up the whole process in just 10 minutes.
Here are the steps to follow:
Step 1: Upload Your Resume and Set Your Job Preferences
First things first, upload your resume to Claude and tell it what kind of job you’re looking for. Share your preferred roles, skills, experience, expected salary, location, and anything else you have in mind.
Don’t rush this part! Give Claude all the details it needs to understand what you want. The more context you provide, the better your results will be. Get this step right, and the rest is pretty much easy breezy!
Step 2: Connect Geekflare MCP to Claude
Now comes the core part! Geekflare offers several web APIs, and we’re going to use its Search API to find job openings that match your profile.
Don’t worry about the cost. New Geekflare users get 500 free credits, so you can get started without spending money.
- Open Claude, click the
+button in the chat box, select Connectors → Add custom connector, and enter Geekflare as the name andhttps://mcp.geekflare.com/YOUR_API_KEY/mcpas the server URL. ReplaceYOUR_API_KEY with your API keyfrom the Geekflare dashboard, then click Add.
- Go to Settings → Connectors and select Geekflare to check that the connection is active.
Once connected, Claude can use Geekflare’s Search API to look for job postings that match the preferences you shared in Step 1.
Step 3: Put Claude to Work!
Finally, it’s time to put Claude to work for you! Start a new chat and ask it to find jobs that match your profile. You can use the prompt below or write it in your own words.
One useful trick is to specify when the jobs were posted. You can ask for jobs posted today, in the last 5 days, or during the past week. This helps you focus on recent opportunities instead of scrolling through old listings.
Try this prompt:
Use Geekflare's Search API to find job openings that match my resume and job preferences. Focus on jobs posted in the last 7 days.
For each job, show the job title, company name, posting date, location, key requirements, and application link.
Rank the results by how well they match my profile, with the best matches first. Flag any posting dates you cannot verify.
Want to narrow it down further? Just change the time period in your prompt:
- “Find jobs matching my profile that were posted today.”
- “Show me relevant jobs posted in the last 5 days.”
- “Find remote jobs matching my profile that were posted this week.”
That’s it! You can adjust the time period and job preferences whenever you search, so Claude can help you discover fresh opportunities that fit what you’re looking for.
Tip: You can also ask Claude to create a resume for a specific job. Just share the job description and let Claude tailor your resume to match it. Give it a quick check before you apply!
