I Built ExifZap — Strip Hidden EXIF Data From Your Photos, 100% Privately

Every photo your phone takes is secretly carrying your GPS coordinates, your phone model, and the exact timestamp — embedded invisibly inside the image file. Share that photo on WhatsApp or social media and you might be handing strangers your home address. I built ExifZap ⚡ to strip all of it out: free, instant, and 100% private.

The hidden data in your photos

It's called EXIF metadata, and it's in nearly every photo taken on a smartphone:

  • Exact GPS coordinates — latitude and longitude of where you stood
  • Device info — phone model, camera settings
  • Timestamps — down to the second

Most people have no idea it's there. And most "free" EXIF removers make you upload your personal photos to their server — trading one privacy problem for another.

What ExifZap does differently

Your photos never leave your device. All processing happens locally in your browser. ExifZap never sees your images — there is no server receiving them, so there is nothing to leak, sell, or breach.

  • Strip GPS, device info, and timestamps in one click
  • Works on JPG, PNG, and WEBP
  • Instant — drop a photo, download the clean version
  • No signup, no watermarks, 100% free forever

Why I built it

Privacy tools shouldn't ask you to trust them with the very data you're trying to protect. An EXIF remover that uploads your photos to "clean" them is backwards. Doing it client-side was the whole point — privacy by architecture, not by promise.

Try it

Before you post your next photo anywhere, run it through exifzap.lovable.app first. Takes ten seconds, and your location stays yours. ⚡
