I Built PdfZap — Delete, Reorder & Clean Up PDF Pages Free, 100% Privately

I have a scanned textbook PDF with a blank page between every chapter, an upside-down page in the middle, and two duplicate pages at the end. My options used to be: pay for Adobe, install a sketchy desktop tool, or upload the whole document to some random free site that watermarks the output and keeps a copy of my file. None of those are acceptable.

So I built PdfZap — a free PDF page remover and organizer. Upload any PDF and you can delete unwanted pages, reorder pages with drag and drop, rotate crooked pages, or extract specific pages into a new file. No signup, no watermarks, no fees. And the part I'm proudest of: your file never leaves your browser.

Here's how simple the flow is: drop your PDF in, and PdfZap renders real thumbnails of every page so you can see exactly what you're editing. Click the pages you want gone, hit remove, and download a clean PDF instantly. Same file, fewer pages, zero quality loss.

The things it does beyond plain deletion:

  • Delete any pages — pick them individually, type ranges like 1,3,5-8, or nuke all odd/even pages in one click.
  • Drag and drop reorder — rearrange page thumbnails into any order you want.
  • Rotate pages — fix upside-down or sideways scans, one page or all of them, by 90°, 180° or 270°.
  • Extract pages — pull specific pages into a new PDF, or export every page as its own PDF in a ZIP.
  • Real page previews — actual rendered thumbnails, not generic page numbers, so you never delete the wrong page.
  • 100% private, always — the whole thing runs in JavaScript in your browser. Nothing is uploaded. Nothing is stored.

I built it because the PDF tax is absurd. Paying $20 a month for Adobe just to delete a page is ridiculous — that's a simple operation that shouldn't need a subscription. And for a file that might contain your tax documents, a contract, or a report with confidential client pages, uploading it to a server is a non-starter. PDFZap does it locally, so the private-by-construction approach isn't a marketing line, it's the architecture.

Who it's for: students cleaning blank pages and duplicates out of lecture PDFs before printing, professionals stripping confidential pages out of reports before sending them to clients, freelancers prepping deliverables without a PDF editor license, and anyone who just wants to fix a crooked scan without paying for it.

It's live now: pdfzap.lovable.app — drop a PDF, clean it up, download it.

If you try it, I'd genuinely love to hear what you clean up first. What's the messiest PDF on your computer right now?
