Over the past few months I've been building out ToolForge, a free tool platform that started as a set of calculators for Pakistani users and has grown into something with a real focus on the compliance and finance headaches specific to the US, UK, EU, Canada, and Australia. No signup, no paywall, everything runs free.
A lot of these came out of genuinely annoying gaps I kept running into — EU e-invoicing mandates rolling out country by country with zero good free tooling, UK director tax rules changing again for 2026/27, German salary calculators that don't talk to each other. Sharing the list here in case any of these save someone else time.
EU E-Invoicing Compliance
If you sell into the EU, B2B e-invoicing mandates are rolling out fast, and each country uses different terminology and formats — most existing tools don't distinguish between them.
- Peppol E-Invoice Generator — free UBL 2.1/BIS 3.0 invoice generator, with dedicated pages for Belgium, France (Chorus Pro/Factur-X), Poland (KSeF), Croatia (Fiskalizacija 2.0), Norway (EHF 3.0), and Slovakia
- Romania RO e-Factura Generator — Romania's ANAF system uses its own schema, not standard Peppol, so this one's built separately with the correct RO_CIUS handling
- Germany XRechnung/ZUGFeRD Generator — covers Germany's phased mandate (receiving already required since 2025, issuing from 2027)
- Bulk VAT Number Validator — checks EU VAT numbers against the official VIES database in bulk
- VAT Calculator — add/remove VAT for UK and EU rates
- Bulk IBAN Validator — validates IBANs against SEPA checksum rules
- DAC7 Threshold Checker — if you sell on a platform (Etsy, Airbnb, freelance marketplaces) with EU customers, this tells you whether you're a reportable seller — most explainers bury the fact that the exemption only applies to goods sellers, not services or rentals
