Building a 322-Voice Multilingual TTS Engine: Architecture & Challenges

What We Built Today

We shipped LuxurAI TTS - a 322-voice text-to-speech engine covering 142 languages, with dedicated support for 10 Indian languages. This powers voice output across our LuxurAI Cowork desktop automation agent.

The Problem We Solved

Most commercial TTS systems:

  • Focus only on English/major European languages
  • Charge premium prices per character
  • Lack authentic regional pronunciation

Our ₹0.25/credit model makes multilingual voice accessible globally.

Technical Architecture

  • Hybrid waveform synthesis (neural + concatenative)
  • Phoneme dictionaries for 142 languages
  • 10ms streaming latency via WebAudio API
  • Integrated with our self-healing code generation engine for dynamic SSML

Current Beta Limitations

  • Some tonal languages need better prosody
  • Working on reducing model load times

Try it free at luxurai.in - would love feedback from linguists and audio engineers!
