NOTE: This is issue #050 of my newsletter, which went live on Monday, January 31st. If you find this information useful and interesting and you want to receive future issues as they are published, ahead of everyone else, I invite you to join the subscriber list at frontendnexus.com.

The beginning of the year is a slow time for the web industry, meaning there's not too much to report on. So I brought you a roundup of all the cool things that have been implemented recently in your browser's DevTools. There is also another release of the Safari Technology Preview (number 139 this time). And the software updates include npm v8.4.0, TypeScript 4.6 Beta, and more.

What’s New In DevTools?

DevTools are an essential component in the arsenal of every web developer. But how well do we know these tools? Are we using all the features available?

Patrick Brosset does a great job in rounding up the new features that arrived in DevTools across all browsers. The current article is an update to the one he did back in September, so you might want to check that one as well.

WebKit

The WebKit team shipped another Safari Technology Preview update. This update brings fixes to over 40 issues, most of them related to CSS and the Web Animation API.
