You do not need a camera, a studio, or a full afternoon to publish a Reel. You need a clear hook, a tight script, and a text-to-video tool that can export vertical video with captions and voiceover.
This workflow is built for solopreneurs and small businesses that already have something to say (an offer, a tip, a behind-the-scenes lesson) and want a repeatable path from idea → published Reel without filming.
What you will use
| Step | Job | Tool |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Pick one idea + hook | Any AI chat assistant |
| 2 | Write a 30–45s script | Same assistant |
| 3 | Generate the vertical video | Zebracat or Fliki |
| 4 | Caption check + post | Instagram app (or Meta Business Suite) |
You can run the whole loop on free tiers first. Fliki's free plan (per fliki.ai/pricing) includes a monthly credit allowance, 720p exports, and a watermark; paid plans add more credits, higher resolution, and commercial rights. Zebracat is built around short-form faceless video (TikTok, Reels, Shorts) from prompts, scripts, or URLs — confirm current free vs paid limits on zebracat.ai.
Step 1: One idea, one audience, one outcome (5 minutes)
Do not open a video tool yet. Write three lines:
- Audience: who should stop scrolling (e.g. café owners in Egypt, indie SaaS founders, fitness coaches).
- Promise: what they get in under 45 seconds (one tip, one myth, one before/after process).
- CTA: what to do next (save, comment a keyword, DM, or click the link in bio).
Paste this into your AI assistant:
Audience: [WHO]
Promise: [ONE OUTCOME]
Offer / product (optional): [WHAT YOU SELL]
Write 8 Reel hooks under 12 words. Style: specific and concrete, not vague motivation.
No questions in the first 3 hooks. Mark the strongest hook with *.
Pick one hook. If nothing feels specific, your promise is still too broad — narrow it and regenerate.
Step 2: Write a spoken script, not a blog post (10 minutes)
Reels are spoken. Short sentences. One idea per line. Aim for 90–120 words for ~30–45 seconds.
Using this hook: [HOOK]
Audience: [WHO]
Write a 40-second Instagram Reel voiceover script.
Structure:
- 0–3s: say the hook almost word-for-word
- 3–30s: 3 concrete steps or points (no fluff)
- last 8s: CTA: [CTA]
Format: one sentence per line. Conversational Egyptian/English mix only if I ask; otherwise clear simple English.
Add a matching on-screen caption (max 6 words) after each line in [brackets].
Edit anything that sounds like generic AI ("in today's digital landscape"). Replace with your real numbers, tools, or client language.

Step 3: Turn the script into a faceless video (15–25 minutes)
You have two solid options for faceless Reels. Use both free tiers once if you can; keep the output that matches your brand.
Option A — Zebracat (short-form first)
Zebracat is oriented toward finished social shorts: paste a prompt, script, or URL and get a captioned vertical video with AI voiceover (and optional voice clone on supported plans). Official pages emphasize TikTok / Reels / Shorts, auto captions, and scheduling/publishing to connected channels.
Workflow:
- Sign up and choose a 9:16 / Reels-style format.
- Paste your full script (or start from the hook as a prompt and replace the AI draft with your edited script).
- Pick voice, pacing, and music.
- Regenerate weak scenes only — do not regenerate the whole video if one clip is off.
- Export or schedule.
Option B — Fliki (script / blog URL → video)
Fliki turns scripts, ideas, blog URLs, or PPTs into videos with AI voices (hundreds of voices across 80+ languages on the free plan, more on paid), stock or AI visuals, captions, and music. Free plan: monthly credits, 720p, watermark; paid plans (see pricing) unlock more credits, 1080p+, and commercial rights.
Workflow:
- Create a project → script to video (or paste the script scene by scene).
- Set aspect ratio to 9:16.
- Choose a clear voice; keep speech rate natural (slightly slower than you think for captions).
- Swap stock clips that feel generic; keep brand colors if the editor allows.
- Export MP4.
Quick pick rule: If your main goal is daily faceless shorts with captions and social scheduling, start with Zebracat. If you also want longer videos, blog-URL-to-video, many languages, or PPT-to-video, start with Fliki. Many creators keep both.
Step 4: Caption and cover check before you post (5 minutes)
Before uploading to Instagram:
- Read the first 3 seconds with sound off. Does the on-screen text still make the hook obvious?
- Keep the cover frame readable at thumbnail size (big text, one face-or-object focus — even for faceless, a bold title card works).
- Put the CTA in spoken audio and on-screen text.
- Add 3–5 relevant keywords in the caption; avoid stuffing 30 hashtags.
Caption template:
[Hook restated in one line]
[1–2 sentences of context]
Save this if you [outcome].
CTA: [comment KEYWORD / link in bio]
Step 5: A weekly cadence that does not burn you out
| Day | Output |
|---|---|
| Mon | Batch 3 hooks + 3 scripts in one AI session |
| Tue | Render Reel 1 (Zebracat or Fliki) |
| Wed | Render Reel 2 |
| Thu | Render Reel 3 + schedule |
| Fri | Reply to comments; note which hook got saves |
Consistency beats perfection. Three solid Reels a week outperform one "perfect" edit that never ships.

Common mistakes (and fixes)
- Hook is a question or a vague claim → Rewrite as a concrete result or surprising statement.
- Script reads like a blog → Cut adjectives; one idea per line; speak it out loud once.
- No CTA → Always tell people what to do in the last 5–8 seconds.
- Posting without checking silent playback → Most people scroll with sound off first.
- Regenerating the whole video for one bad clip → Fix one scene; protect the rest.
Bottom line
Faceless Reels are a system, not a talent test: one sharp hook, a spoken script, and a text-to-video tool. Start on free tiers with Zebracat or Fliki, publish three times, then keep whichever stack you actually finish videos with.
