If you've ever bombed an interview you should have aced, you'll understand why I built an interview copilot. I froze in a Google interview — I knew the answers and couldn't get them out under pressure. So I built AissenceAI: an AI copilot that helps you structure answers live, plus mock interviews that actually score you.
Then I did what any paranoid founder does: I lined up my product against the four most talked-about competitors, compared them feature by feature against their public pricing pages, and did the price math nobody else seems willing to do.
Here's the honest result — including where my own product falls short.
How I compared them
I evaluated each tool on five things that actually matter on interview day, using each company's public pricing and feature pages (verified October 2026):
- Live answer quality — does it use your resume + job description, or generic scripts?
- Mock interviews — can you practice beforehand, and does it score you?
- Price — exact monthly cost, verified today, not "contact us."
- Free plan — can you try the real thing without a credit card?
- Interview-day reliability — desktop app vs browser tab, screen-share behavior.
The 30-second version
Final Round AI — Live copilot: yes, resume-aware | Mocks: yes, scored | ~$150/mo monthly, ~$25/mo annual | Free: limited | Best for: max polish, big budget
Parakeet AI — Live copilot: yes | Mocks: limited | $149.90/mo unlimited, $38/credit | Free: 10-min sessions | Best for: short-term, credit-based use
Verve AI — Live copilot: yes, stealth mode | Mocks: yes (5 free) | $34.99/mo (Standard $16.99/mo) | Free: 3x15-min sessions, no card | Best for: generous free tier
Cluely — Live copilot: yes, but general assistant | Mocks: no | $19.99/mo, $149.99/mo undetectable | Free: limited | Best for: general meetings, not interviews
AissenceAI — Live copilot: yes, resume-aware | Mocks: yes, scored (1 free/day) | $29/mo ($12/mo annual) | Free: yes, no card | Best for: best value, interview-specific
1. Final Round AI — the most polished, at a luxury price
What it does well: The most complete product in the category. The live copilot genuinely uses your resume and the job description to shape answers, the mock interviews are strong, and the desktop app's stealth mode is well engineered. If money is no object, it's the smoothest experience.
Where it falls short: The price. $150/month on the monthly plan is more than most job seekers' entire job-search budget. The annual plan (~$25/mo equivalent) is reasonable, but it locks you into a year — and most job searches last 2-4 months. There are scattered billing complaints online worth reading before you commit to annual.
Price math: 3 months of job hunting on monthly billing = $450. That's the number to beat.
2. Parakeet AI — solid, same luxury problem
What it does well: Clean live-answer experience, 50+ languages, choice of AI model. The credit system ($38 for 60 minutes, credits never expire) is actually nice if you only have one or two interviews.
Where it falls short: Unlimited is $149.90/month — same tier as Final Round AI. Mock interview practice is limited compared to the others. Premium prices without the premium prep suite.
Price math: 3 months unlimited = ~$450. The credit route is cheaper for light use: ~$76 for two hours of interviews.
3. Verve AI — the free-tier champion
What it does well: The most generous free plan in the category — three 15-minute copilot sessions and 5 mock interviews, no credit card. Stealth mode, 14 AI tools, solid mock interviews. Standard is $16.99/month and Pro is $34.99/month, undercutting the big two by over 75%.
Where it falls short: Session caps on lower tiers, and the product tries to do a lot — the breadth can feel scattered compared to Final Round AI's focus.
Price math: 3 months of Pro = ~$105. The free tier alone might carry you through a short search.
4. Cluely — cheapest, but it's not an interview tool
What it does well: $19.99/month makes it the cheapest option here, and it works across meetings generally.
Where it falls short: It's a general meeting assistant, not an interview copilot. No resume-aware answer shaping, no mock interviews, no STAR-method coaching. The undetectability tier people actually buy for interviews is $149.99/month — right back at luxury pricing. Comparing Cluely's base plan to interview copilots is apples to oranges.
Price math: $19.99/mo for meetings; $149.99/mo for the interview-relevant tier.
5. AissenceAI — the $29 interview copilot (my product, honestly assessed)
Full disclosure: I built this. Here's the straight version.
What it does well: Live answer outlines built from your resume + job description, AI mock interviews that score every answer (1 free every day, no credit card), resume tailoring with ATS scoring, and a browser extension that autofills job applications. Unlimited is $29/month, $12/month on annual. The cheapest interview-specific copilot with a real free plan — $363 cheaper than 3 months of Final Round AI monthly.
Where it falls short: We're newer. The question bank is smaller than Final Round AI's, we don't have 76 languages, and there's no lifetime-deal option. If you need interviews in 10 languages next week, pick someone else. If you want the core loop — practice, live help, resume — at a fair price, that's exactly what we built.
Price math: 3 months = $87. Free plan = $0, forever, no card.
The price math nobody else publishes
For a typical 3-month job search, monthly billing:
- Final Round AI: $450
- Parakeet AI (unlimited): $450
- Cluely (undetectable tier): $450
- Verve AI: $105
- AissenceAI: $87
- AissenceAI free plan: $0
The entire category clusters at $450 except the two value players. Ask yourself what the extra $363 buys: more polish, more languages, bigger question banks. For some candidates that's worth it. For most, it isn't.
Verdict
- Money is no object: Final Round AI. Best product, most expensive — those two facts are related.
- Best free tier: Verve AI. Try the 3 free sessions before you pay anyone anything.
- Best value: AissenceAI. Same core loop — live help, scored mocks, resume tools — for $29/month with a free plan that never asks for your card.
- Only 1-2 interviews: Parakeet's credits. Don't buy a subscription for a sprint.
- General meetings: Cluely's base plan. Just don't confuse it with interview prep.
One more honest note: no copilot saves you if you haven't prepared. Do your mock interviews (ours are free, daily, no card at https://aissence.ai — I'm biased, but the advice stands regardless of whose tool you use), know your stories, and treat any live tool as a safety net, not a substitute.
