If you work in infrastructure support at a GSI — TCS, HCL, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant — you have almost certainly been told to "upskill in AI" this year. You have probably also opened one of the recommended courses, watched forty minutes of someone training a sentiment classifier on movie reviews, and quietly closed the tab.

Not because it was bad. Because it was for someone else.

There's a large, capable, strangely underserved population of technologists: the people who run Intune and SCCM estates, work ServiceNow queues, patch Windows and Linux fleets, run transitions, and hold P1 bridges together at 2am. They keep the lights on for the Global 2000 — and when they go looking for AI education, they're offered either a data science curriculum that assumes Python and linear algebra, or a corporate LMS module that's mostly a compliance video.

Neither answers the only question that matters on a Monday: what does this change about my job, this week?

So I built the thing I couldn't find.

Learn by doing, not by syllabus

AICademy is free, self-paced, and it works offline. The core idea is that you don't enrol in a course. You start a job.

Open the Service Desk programme and you're not shown a module list. You're shown your new employer: Northwind Financial, 10,000 staff across Sydney, Singapore and London, running Intune + SCCM, Entra ID, ServiceNow, CrowdStrike, Splunk. You get colleagues with names and personalities — Raj, your shift buddy, "allergic to documentation"; Michael, who grades your escalations mercilessly. Every module opens with Today's Queue from that environment: real INC numbers, real priorities, real requesters.

The characters recur. By week six you know the estate the way you know a real account.

What's in it

Eight hands-on programmes, built for the job you already have:

  • AI-Augmented Service Desk (8 weeks)
  • AI-Augmented System Administrator (10 weeks)
  • AI-Augmented IT Project Manager (8 weeks)
  • Agentic AI & RAG Engineering, mapped to ITSM / endpoint / datacenter (30 weeks)
  • Agentic AI for Leadership — no coding (18 weeks)
  • Inside the Model: LLM Weights Decoded — for people who size the box (4 weeks)
  • Forward Deployed Engineer: AI for the Infrastructure Estate (10 weeks)
  • Essential Skills for the AI Era (10 weeks)

A module is not a video. It's learn → project → drills → apply-at-work → reflect → test, plus a module-scoped AI tutor.

Try it

The academy is live, no signup to browse:

The longer write-up (philosophy, stack, honest comparison with the courses already out there) lives on my site. This post is a republication; the canonical URL is set to that page.

I'm Ajay Walia. I built this because I needed it, not because I wanted a content funnel. If you actually work a queue or an estate, tell me where the simulation is still fake.
