Gemini Spark is Google's 24/7 personal agent. Google's launch post says it keeps working when you close your laptop or lock your phone. It works deep inside Gmail, Docs and Slides. In the Gemini app, Google now calls it Task.

Off Grid AI Desktop (OGAD) Pro gives you a chief of staff on your own computer. Your memory and the model stay on your device, and it acts only after your yes. No Google subscription, no account with us, one payment.

Checked 30 October 2026 against Google's Spark help page and launch post. Google's plans page lists tasks in Gemini for AI Pro and Ultra. We could not confirm one current US price for those plans, so this article has no cost table. Off Grid AI's price is a limited-time lifetime offer, down from $119.

What Spark keeps in your Google Account

Google's help page is clear about what stays on its side:

  • Keep Activity must be on to use Spark.
  • Remote browser data, such as sign-in cookies, is saved for future sessions. You can delete it in settings.
  • Files from remote code runs are also saved until you delete them.

None of this is hidden. It is how a cloud agent works. Your context has to live where the agent runs.

What God does on your computer

God is the chief of staff inside OGAD Pro. It reads your connected Google or Microsoft account and the work already saved in OGAD:

  • A morning brief. Your next meeting, the decision it needs, and the open task that blocks it. Each fact has a source.
  • Meeting prep. Notes from the last meeting with the same people.
  • What people owe you. Promises from calls and mail, with who said it.
  • Routines. A weekday brief, a review before a meeting, or an approvals digest, at the times you set.
  • Rules. Instructions God always follows, such as "keep my brief under five items."

When God proposes a reply or an issue, it waits in Actions. You approve or reject it. Every approval is logged.

To start, read How to get an automatic morning briefing in Off Grid AI on Mac or on Windows.

God is one part of Pro

Spark knows what your Google apps know. OGAD Pro also remembers the work that happens outside them, on your own disk:

  • Memory. Your screens, meetings, mail and documents become one local memory you can search and ask, with sources.
  • Meetings. Calls recorded without a bot, transcribed and summarised on your computer. Zoom, Teams or Google Meet.
  • Actions you approve. Replies, issues and docs through Gmail, Linear, Jira and Notion.
  • Reflect. Your time by project, app and person. No timers.
  • Vault, Clipboard and Sync. Encrypted secrets, a searchable clipboard, and your devices in sync, device to device. No server keeps a copy.

All of it is in the same $79.99, on up to 5 devices.

Where your data goes

With local models selected, OGAD writes your brief on your computer. Your memory is never sent to a server we run, because we run none.

Reading Gmail still talks to Gmail. Google sees your mail as it always does. What changes is that the reasoning, the memory and the history of your day stay on your machine. If you pick a remote model, the context for that answer goes to that provider.

When Gemini Spark is the better pick

Be fair to yourself. Spark keeps working after you close the laptop. God's routines run inside OGAD, so your computer must be awake and the app open.

Spark also needs no strong hardware. It runs on Google's servers with Gemini 3.5. OGAD runs best on an Apple silicon Mac or a recent PC that fits a good local model. The app shows which models fit before you download.

And if your whole day is in Gmail, Docs and Sheets, Spark's links into those apps are deep. If you already pay for Google AI Pro or Ultra and live outside the excluded regions, try it. If you want your work history on your own machine, with no activity setting to keep on, run OGAD.

Switch in fifteen minutes

  1. Download OGAD for Mac, Windows or Linux.
  2. Get Pro and enter your key in the app.
  3. In Models, download a text model that can use tools.
  4. Open Integrations and connect your Google account.
  5. Open God and ask: "Prepare my next three hours. Give a source for each fact. Do not send anything."
  6. When the brief helps, add it as a routine in Scheduled tasks and press Run now to check it.

FAQ

What do I need to use Gemini Spark?
Google's help page lists a personal Google Account, age 18 or over, and a Google AI Pro or Ultra subscription. Keep Activity must be on, and you must opt in to Personal Intelligence. Work and school accounts are not supported yet.

Is Gemini Spark available in Europe or the UK?
No. Google's help page says Spark is available where Gemini Apps are supported, except the European Economic Area, Nigeria, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

Does Gemini Spark ask before it acts?
For many actions, yes. Google says Gemini confirms before it sends messages, changes or deletes data, makes purchases or submits web forms. It can make bulk changes to private Google Tasks without confirmation.

Is there a Gemini Spark alternative that runs on my computer?
Yes. Off Grid AI Desktop Pro has God, a chief of staff that briefs you and runs scheduled tasks on your Mac, Windows or Linux computer. With local models selected, the model runs on your computer. Connected services such as Gmail still need the internet.

Does Off Grid AI work with Gmail and Google Calendar?
Yes. You can connect Google or Microsoft accounts. OGAD reads them to build your brief, and anything it wants to send waits for your approval.

Get Off Grid AI Pro and run your morning brief on your own computer.
