Krisp started as noise cancellation and grew into a meeting notetaker. It is more private than most: its meeting assistant page says it offers "on-device English transcription". But other languages go to its servers, and the notes come with a monthly plan.

Off Grid AI Desktop (OGAD) Pro records calls without a bot, like Krisp. It transcribes and summarises every language on your own computer, and you pay once.

The language gap

If every call you take is in English, Krisp's on-device transcription keeps the words local. Many teams don't work that way. A sales call in Spanish, a stand-up in German or a client in Korean falls into Krisp's server-based list.

OGAD has no such split. Pick a multilingual Whisper model in Models, and every call is transcribed on your computer. See meeting transcripts in multiple languages on a Mac.

What you get after the call

When you press Stop, a local Whisper model writes the transcript. A local text model then writes:

  • a summary of the call,
  • the decisions made,
  • the follow-ups, with who owes what,
  • the screens that were shared.

Those follow-ups don't sit in a list. Pro can draft the reply in Gmail or the issue in Linear, Jira or Notion, and it runs only when you approve it.

Meetings are one part of Pro

  • Memory. Screens, meetings, mail and documents in one local memory you can search and ask.
  • God, your chief of staff. A morning brief, meeting prep with last time's notes, and what people owe you.
  • Dictation. Speak into any app on your computer, transcribed locally.
  • Vault, Clipboard and Sync. Encrypted secrets, a searchable clipboard, and your phone and computer in sync.

When Krisp is the better pick

Krisp removes background noise, voices and echo from your calls, in both directions. OGAD doesn't do that at all. Krisp also has mobile apps and team admin on its higher plans.

If a noisy room is your main problem, Krisp is the right tool. If you want private notes in any language, with no seat fee, use OGAD. You can also run both: Krisp for clean audio, OGAD for the notes.
