What should I do first? (Beginning coding journey)

Hey guys i just started coding.

 im like a week in now. 

I understand a little python now and i'm learning javascript because i didnt really feel like just memorizing python syntax was fun at this point. (i think thats the right use of the word syntax)

So my question is this:

If you could go back to the beginning and start over, what would you do or experiment with to keep yourself encouraged and make the learning process fun and enjoyable?
I figured joining a community would be a good step, so here i am.
