"It is still too early to know exactly what I will fix, build, or vibe to improve the world" — honestly, I don't think that ever gets decided in advance. I came from a completely different field (physical therapist in a hospital, zero coding background), and I never sat down and chose what to build. The nearest annoying thing chose me: a spreadsheet everyone hated updating. Fixing that led to the next thing, and the next, and a year later there was somehow a whole trail of tools behind me.
So my one-year-in advice, from another career shifter: don't wait for the big "what will I build" answer. Grab the smallest irritation within arm's reach and fix that. The direction reveals itself by walking, not by planning. Congrats on year one — deciding to appear is the hardest commit.
