Is software development DYING?

Is software development DYING?

Software development is certainly transforming. Perhaps traditional "coding" is living out its final years, or even months. And it's not just the words of Nvidia's CEO about AI replacing developers. It's too simplified; AI won't just replace developers, it will completely transform the industry, approaches, and standards. We are already feeling this at @kindgeeks, and we see the need for adaptation: critically fast adaptation. Many companies won't manage to do this and will close, but those who succeed will become better and more productive.

In the video, here's a new example: Devin — an AI developer. He has passed interviews with leading companies and easily completed test tasks on Upwork.

Devin can create and deploy applications end-to-end.

Devin can train his own AI models.

And much more. We haven't tested him yet, and I'm just relaying the marketing claims of the developer's company, but it's obvious that sooner or later, this will happen, and we need to be prepared for it.

The Next Generation Developer Platform

Coherence is the first Platform-as-a-Service you can control. Unlike "black-box" platforms that are opinionated about the infra you can deploy, Coherence is powered by CNC, the open-source IaC framework, which offers limitless customization.
