THE UX BASICS
UX Design Process Overview
In UI Design process the whole system needs to be designed by keeping the interactive experience of the user in front of the scenario.
Have you ever wondered how we get hooked to certain websites and spend hours without realising? Or, how it becomes so easy to navigate between some websites while with others it’s simply annoying even to identify the provided action items. So what makes these websites or products stand out? The answer to all these questions is a better User Experience Design. So grab a cup of coffee and let’s know, how, when and where we can use UX to make our products stand out by focusing on the User as the primary source of inspiration.
A very nice example: https://50problems50days.com/
“Most people make the mistake of thinking design is what it looks like. People think it’s this veneer, that the designers are handed this box and told ‘Make it look good’, but that’s not what we think the design is. It’s not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works.” — Steve Jobs
“ Design is a plan for arranging elements in such a way as to best accomplish a particular purpose.” — Charles Ames
“When I’m working on a problem, I never think about beauty. I only think about how to solve the problem. But when I’ve finished, if the solution isn’t beautiful, I know it’s wrong.”** — Buckminster Fuller**
What is Design
Design is about solving any problem in any field. Often we mistake a design to be a website or product solution but the design also might refer to a plan to solve a certain issue. The only thing is it should be convenient, fast and unique. While designing we often arrange different elements together in order to provide flexibility to the user while fulfilling a purpose. It explains how the system works in terms of functionality.
General Design Process
The designing is an iterative process which starts with understanding the problem and accessing the prototype again and again.
🟌 UI Design Process
In UI Design process the whole system needs to be designed by keeping the interactive experience of the user in front of the scenario.
Just remember, “Experiences are interactive”. To emphasize on interaction-based experience, we need to take care of a few things:
- Decide Time-Based Interaction
What all actions are available.
What all responses are possible.
2. Complex system behaviour
Designing the navigation flow of a complex system
Designing the layout of the whole system
3. Context is crucial
Decide beforehand that why, when and how the user needs to interact with the system
Knowing who else is a competitor? (Figure out other systems or software which are used simultaneously)
Other activities that user might use the system for.
