1. Fluid Type & Nature
Determine if the fluid is corrosive, abrasive, toxic, or flammable. This determines body material selection.
- Corrosive: PP or PVDF body with PTFE diaphragm
- Abrasive: Larger pump at lower speed, Santoprene diaphragm
- Flammable/Toxic: AODD is ideal — no electricity, intrinsically safe
2. Viscosity
| Viscosity | Recommended Pump |
|---|---|
| Up to 500 CPS | Any model |
| 500–5,000 CPS | AOD 300 or larger |
| 5,000–12,000 CPS | AOD 400 or AOD 500 |
3. Required Flow Rate
| Model | Max Flow |
|---|---|
| AOD 150 | 35 LPM |
| AOD 300 | 135 LPM |
| AOD 400 | 270 LPM |
| AOD 500 | 586 LPM |
4. Operating Pressure
- Max inlet air pressure: 6 kg/cm² for all models
- Discharge pressure must be ≤ inlet air pressure
5. Temperature
- Santoprene: max 104.4°C
- PTFE: handles higher temperatures
- Match body material to fluid temperature
6. Body Material Selection
| Material | Best For | Avoid |
|---|---|---|
| PP | Acids, alkalis | Solvents |
| SS316 | Solvents, pharma, food | Strong acids |
| Aluminium | General industrial | Acids, alkalis |
| PVDF | Aggressive chemicals | Strong alkalis |
