If I could go back to my first day of B.Tech, there are quite a few things I would tell myself.
Not about which subjects to study or how to score better in exams, but about everything beyond the classroom that I didn't understand at the time.
When I started college, I thought I had plenty of time to figure everything out. Like many students, I was excited about college life—making friends, attending classes, enjoying campus life, and creating memories.
And honestly, that's how my first year went.
Then came my second year.
There were classes, exams, assignments, and, along with them, plenty of distractions. I spent a lot of time on my phone, kept postponing things, and constantly told myself that I would start learning "later."
At that point, I didn't realize how quickly the semesters were passing.
Eventually, I looked around and realized something that honestly scared me a little.
The competition in the tech industry was getting tougher, while I felt like I hadn't done enough to prepare myself.
That was when I started asking myself:
"What am I actually doing with my time?"
It wasn't a very comfortable realization, but it was an important one.
I finally understood that college wasn't just about attending classes and passing exams. There was so much more I needed to learn, explore, and build on my own.
So, instead of waiting for the "perfect time" to start, I decided to begin with whatever I could.
And that's when my learning journey really started.
Looking back now, there are several things I wish I had understood much earlier. These are not lessons from someone who has everything figured out—they are lessons I'm learning from my own experience as a B.Tech student.
