Waiting doesn't earn a raise.
Value does.
It's easy to believe
that if you just stay long enough,
show up, put in the years,
the reward will come.
Sometimes it does.
Usually it doesn't.
Time in a seat
is not the same as impact from it.
The people who move up
aren't the ones who waited the longest.
They're the ones who quietly became
harder to replace —
who solved bigger problems,
took on what others avoided,
made the people around them better.
So stop counting the months.
Start asking a harder question:
am I worth more to this team
than I was a year ago?
If the answer is yes,
you have something to stand on.
If it's no,
no amount of waiting will fix it.
Raises follow value.
Go build the value first.
