Dev.To is great for learning from other developers through medium-to-long-form blog posts. I think I've learned more being a member of Dev over the past four or five months than over any other comparable period in my life. And it's a great community! People are welcoming and eager to help and share their experiences.
But it's not my go-to website for job searches. That would be LinkedIn, or Indeed, or (because I'm in Ireland) IrishJobs.ie. The format of these websites makes it easier to host a CV/resume-like page online and scout for relevant jobs based on location, salary, and tech stack filters.
And it's not my go-to website for having real-time conversations about current events. That's still Twitter (and I think that's the same for most people).
Unless you're WeChat, no product should try to be a Jack-of-all-trades. Do one thing and do it well. Dev.To does tech blogging really well, and may be able to expand into a developer-focused social network, but for now, it's got its limitations.
On that note, I'd love to connect with some more developers on Twitter (for fun) and LinkedIn (for business). If we're not already, connect with me and post your info below so I can follow you back! Bonus points if you want to talk about Java. Or dogs.

it's java based automation framework used for web automation. it's one of most popular framework for automated testing. you can read all about it here
There is more light-weight analogue called Selenide. More high-level suite.
I followed you, I've converted my Twitter over to be my "career/tech talk" place so it's nice to find another like-minded person to follow. If you'd like to follow me back: My Twitter I've been trying to be more active on it.
Anyone can add me on twitter we can talk Java, Open source, Node and dogs.
Currently working on some new NPM packages and working with on a couple open source projects out in the world
Happy to connect here. Trying to post more tech related posts. Typically hover around low level programming, game dev, and Python.
Link worked for me, but my handle is @ChristianBrint2
That link doesn't seem to work! :(
Hmm, it was working when I clicked on it. I added my handle to my post :) Thanks for the heads up.
The URL has a %5D character in it, which is a close bracket ']'. Typo maybe?

Always happy to connect!
my LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/dyadic/. Feel free to ask me anything. I really appreciate to discuss any topics from dev to life.
Just added you!
Followed you on Twitter! I think we should have something like a discord or slack where dev.toers can easily converse.
