Pairly.chat Weekly Update – Week #1

Hi everyone! 👋

I’m Behan, creator of Pairly.chat, a fully indigenous, privacy-focused chat platform. I’ve been building this project for over a year, and I want to share the journey, vision, and progress so far.

🌟 Why Pairly.chat?

I built this platform because I wanted to experience genuine human connection online, but most chat platforms left me frustrated. Many prioritize data collection, bots, or monetization over real interactions. This made connecting with real people depressing and untrustworthy.

I decided to create a safe, privacy-first platform where users can interact without being exploited or pressured. Every feature prioritizes user safety, trust, and control. Early signup is simple so users can explore immediately, and verification comes later once they trust the platform.

This is my passion project and an open-source platform, so I’m asking for your support, feedback, and contributions. While I’m developing all features alone, community contributions—like README translations or testing—help make this a truly genuine platform.

📅 Why Weekly Reports?

I’ve been developing Pairly.chat for over a year, and sometimes the process can be frustrating and overwhelming—especially when progress feels slow or ideas pile up.

To stay accountable, track progress, and get feedback from the community, I’ve started weekly updates. Sharing these updates not only helps me stay motivated, but it also allows users and contributors to see how the platform evolves, provide input, and help build a genuinely safe and interactive chat experience.

🛠️ How it works (Progressive User Flow)

  • Exploration Stage:
Users start by connecting with random people to explore the platform.

  • Private Chat:
Once comfortable, users can chat privately after accepting a friend request.
This stage includes an option to propose a connection with a partner. Currently text-only; upcoming updates will add images, video, audio, and location sharing.

  • Couple Mode:
Fully secure mode with enhanced privacy features, accessible only after mutual consent between users.

🟢 Current Status

  • Public pages are complete.
  • Random chat is functional; preference-based matching is temporarily on hold due to low user numbers.
  • Private chat feature is actively under development.
  • Progressive Web App (PWA) support added, allowing users to install Pairly.chat on mobile devices for a native app-like experience, helping reduce frustration and make chatting smoother on the go.

⚡ Signup / Login

  • Users can currently sign up or log in via Google or GitHub accounts.
  • Standard signup without verification is temporarily available for early users, and users will be able to update their email or account info later once verification features are implemented.

💬 Feedback & Support

Your input is invaluable! Test the platform, share your thoughts, and help shape a secure, interactive chat experience.

Thanks for following this journey — building a safe, user-first platform is my mission, and your feedback keeps it moving forward!
