If you use the #codebase tag it tends to try and match your own style more and if you put style guidelines in a DEVELOPMENT.md file it will do a bit better at this.

There is actually a good reason for saying thanks.
If enough people say thanks, and OpenAI or Google uses all your chats for training data, then hopefully the AI will be nicer (because the training data is nice).
I had this thought the other day, that as users learn that what makes people civilised people in society (saying "please", "thank you"...) is not needed for chatGPT, they will unlearn to say these words in real life.
So, chatGPT will not only cause the downfall of programming, but also of social norms.
