Welcome to the ABEND dump #27!
Don’t know what is an “ABEND dump”?! I’m glad you asked.
You can check the previous ABEND dump here:
I haven't been reading that much lately, unfortunately. Or, I did read, but if I don't remember, it's not worth mentioning.
So, here goes just a tiny bit of content that stood out for the past 3 months.
TypeScript, C# and Turbo Pascal with Anders Hejlsberg
Here's an interview with Anders Hejlsberg. This guy is a legend! Always inspiring to watch his talks and interviews.
Trust Factory
As always, Kent Beck makes me think, and yes, I agree with his statement here.
Physical disc production ending in January 2028 for new games releasing on PlayStation consoles
After Sony announced they aren't going to release physical discs for games, Xbox followed.
It's a sad time for games preservation. I wish there was at least a way to keep them as physical copies, to play offline in the future, but I doubt most studios would offer this option.
I don't like this direction where everything is turning into a subscription.
MIT students turned a building into a giant playable game of Tetris
This was sitting here for a while, and just now I managed to find it to share.
How cool is that?! :D
Thanks for reading the ABEND dump! No discs, no problem -- as long as MIT keeps turning buildings into Tetris boards, the future's still fun. Subscribe and let's see what they turn into a giant Pac-Man next.
