Choose ChatGPT if its projects, canvas and wider toolset already serve your work. Try nenspace if you want a distinct conversational model beside dedicated notes, tasks, habits and a logbook. Neither choice requires moving your whole system. A better test is to bring the same small decision or draft to each, then see whether you can use the answer tomorrow.

I founded nenspace, so this is a comparison from one of the products being compared. ChatGPT's capabilities below come from OpenAI's Projects documentation; my judgment about fit is my own. Features and plan limits can change. The original comparison was updated on 20 September 2026; the linked documentation was checked for this adaptation on 27 September 2026.

How do the everyday workflows differ?

ChatGPT Projects gather related chats, files and project instructions. OpenAI documents project memory, subject to settings and plan, and a way to save a chat response as a project source. Canvas supports work on drafts and code beyond a chat thread. Those are real strengths if your current projects already have the right material and your task benefits from the available tools.

nenspace puts nen, a model trained by nenspace, alongside a personal space with notes, tasks, habits and a logbook. The intended journey is to work through something in conversation, keep a useful part, and return through that saved object. That is a narrower arrangement than ChatGPT's tool set. It is worth trying for the way nen responds and for the personal routine around it, rather than for a claim that ChatGPT cannot remember or save anything.

What you need ChatGPT nenspace
Ongoing context Projects group chats, files and instructions; project memory depends on settings and plan. Keep relevant material in a visible personal space and bring it into conversation.
Writing Canvas supports drafting and editing. Discuss a draft with nen and keep a useful result as a note.
A result to revisit Save a response as a project source, or continue in a project. Keep your own conclusion in a note and put a next step in tasks.
Model choice Evaluate ChatGPT's available models and tools on your actual tasks. Try nen's response style on an ordinary decision or paragraph.

These rows describe different arrangements, not a ranking of reasoning, research or coding performance. If you depend on a specialist tool, test that particular job directly.

Who should keep ChatGPT?

Keep it if Projects already hold your working context, Canvas makes revision easier, or its other tools are part of the work you do. There is no benefit in rebuilding a useful setup for a general claim that another product is “more personal.” OpenAI's current Projects help also describes project sources and connected app links; any comparison that says useful output can only be saved in nenspace would be wrong.

When might nenspace fit?

Try it when your daily work is a conversation about a decision, a paragraph or a reflection, followed by a small record you want to return to. Nen is trained to answer rather than simply agree. That is a design aim, and any model can still give an agreeable or unhelpful answer. Judge the actual response, not the promise.

The personal sections also matter if you want notes and next steps close to the conversation without designing a custom workspace. They do not imply that nen can read every item in your space or make changes on its own. The original comparison has the fuller feature breakdown and current scope.

A one-decision test

  1. Choose a real, small decision and write down its facts, your present preference and the reason for it.
  2. Send the same question to nen and to the ChatGPT setup you normally use. Notice which answer tests an assumption, explains a trade-off and stays tied to your facts.
  3. Write your own conclusion as a note, add one next step as a task, and return to the record tomorrow. Ask whether either conversation made the decision clearer.

Sample prompt, not a model transcript:

I am choosing between [A] and [B]. Here are the facts: [facts]. I currently prefer [A] because [reason]. What assumption should I check, and what small next step would help me decide?

Frequently asked questions

Does ChatGPT remember project context?

Yes. OpenAI describes project memory and context from chats and files, with behavior depending on settings and plan. nenspace offers a different relationship between a model conversation and personal workspace, not exclusive access to memory.

Is nen less sycophantic than ChatGPT?

This comparison does not establish that. Nen's training aims at grounded answers, but behavior varies by prompt and version. The dated side-by-side examples show selected responses, not an overall ranking. Test your own work and read the limitations.

Do I need to switch everything to try it?

No. Start with one decision, draft or reflection. Keep the tools that already work, and decide whether the conversation and saved result are worth returning to. Pricing and current allowances are on the original site.
