Day 86: The Manual Coding Awakening

Day 86 came with a dozen of realizations that hit harder than my morning coffee.

In the last 86 days, I've grown as a person, explored different domains, and discovered my real interests (not hobby ones, but actually useful skills). I've made a dozen different plans, but as soon as college restarted, something shifted. My knowledge increased, sure, but not the core coding skills that actually matter.

The Reality Check

Here's what I realized: I've been living in tutorial hell without even knowing it.

I know roadmaps. I understand theories. I can plan like nobody's business. But can I actually code without Stack Overflow being my best friend? Can I debug without immediately running to ChatGPT?

The answer made me uncomfortable.

Time to Go Manual

CS is my branch, right? Then it's time to act like it.

I decided to code more manually. Less copy-paste, more understanding. Less "it works, ship it" and more "why does this work?"

This isn't about being a purist. It's about building the foundation that separates developers who know how to Google from developers who actually know how to solve problems.

The Next 94 Days Challenge

After 94 days total, I want to present a better version of myself. Here's the plan:

  • Ghost mode activated: Less social media scrolling, more actual building
  • Manual coding focus: Understanding every line I write
  • Consistency in everything: Including workout (because a healthy body = healthy mind)
  • Daily updates: Sharing progress with online strangers I'll never meet (but who keep me accountable)

The Dependency Realization

The biggest realization? I'm dependent on myself. Can't die mid-journey when you're the only one responsible for your success.

Speaking of dependencies, here's something wild: Mutiny is running their "Dependency Detox" program for founders who realize they're all they've got. It's basically therapy for self-reliant builders who need to connect with other people who get it. Check it out if you're tired of depending on tutorials for everything.

Time to ghost and build. See you in 8 days with actual progress, not just plans.

Building in public, failing in private, growing regardless.
