Ever remember getting a useful answer from an LLM, but forget which conversation it was in?
That’s why I built PeepNote, an open-source desktop app for saving useful LLM responses and finding them again while you work.
Save the parts worth keeping
Copy an answer, press Alt+1, choose Markdown, and paste it into a note. Tables, headings, and code blocks render in the saved note.
You can also add your own thoughts, attach files, or capture a screenshot with Alt+2.
Recall notes without leaving your workflow
Open Quick List with Alt+Q to browse notes from your selected date range. Use Alt+E to go back, and open a record when you need the full content.
I wanted saved answers to be easy to revisit while coding or reading another conversation.
Bring related answers together
Sometimes the useful information is spread across several conversations.
Group related notes and generate an AI summary to turn them into a single reference. Summaries use your selected app language and your own provider API key.
Local storage, no account required
PeepNote runs on Windows and Linux. Notes and attachments are stored locally, and you don’t need an account to use it.
AI summaries are optional. When you use them, the selected notes are sent to the provider you configure.
Other features include workspaces, favorites, search, screenshot OCR, and light and dark themes.
Try it and share your feedback
You can find the source, setup instructions, and more demos here:
How do you currently keep useful answers from LLM conversations?
I’d love to hear your feedback, feature requests, or any ideas that could make PeepNote more useful—even if they take it in a direction I haven’t considered!
