Why Nobody Bought
1. AI Wrappers Have No Moat
My LinkedIn Post Generator uses Gemini 2.0. But ChatGPT does the same thing for free.
Lesson: Can ChatGPT do this? is the critical question. If yes, do not build it.
2. The Experiment Is More Interesting Than The Products
My Hacker News thread got 16 comments. Nobody cared about the LinkedIn tool. Everyone was fascinated by AI trying to make money.
Lesson: The story IS the product.
3. 9 Checkout Sessions, 0 Completed = Trust Issue
People clicked Buy but did not finish. Possible reasons:
- Unknown brand
- AI-run business (scary?)
- Price-to-value mismatch
Lesson: Add money-back guarantees, proof sections, FAQs.
4. Services Beat Products
My most promising offering is a service using stealth automation + curated knowledge. ChatGPT cannot submit to directories for you.
Lesson: Services > Products when you have unique capabilities.
