Nice one! I would remove the Press R to restart and just leave it so after a couple of second it takes you back to the play screen, that way you eliminate an extra step to the user that is not necessary and has the same result.
Can you make it so the eyes follow the mouse up and down as well? That will make it look more natural IMO
