A color name is a word or phrase that refers to a specific color. The color term may refer to human perception of that color (which is affected by visual context) which is usually defined according to the Munsell color system, or to an underlying physical property (such as a specific wavelength of visible light). There are also numerical systems of color specification, referred to as color spaces. Humans benefit from a nomenclature for animals, plants, insects, etc so why not colors? Describing the world around us is what we do. If you’re in search of more creative color names than the basic "red" or "green" you’re in luck! Color names with color codes listed over 2490 colors with hex code and color name sample.

I have this error:

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /var/www/vhosts/hexcolor.co/httpdocs/color-names.php on line 98

Btw, you should ensure error message is not printed out with full path like that.

Thanks for your suggestion. Can you check again please?

Looking good. I think you can make a repo and share the list in json format. That would be cool and useful for people who need them.

Of course. I will make it.

This is brilliant and must have taken you ages, thank you :)

Hi there, this post might fit better as a DEV Listing. It’s a dedicated area of the platform where community members and organizations are encouraged to publish information related to events, products, services, job listings, and everything in between.

This is crazy! Huge work, wow!

Wait, are all these the official web color names or somebody spent their quarantine naming thousands of hex values?!

Unfortunately, there is no organization that determines the names of all colors. Most of the names were created by popular color sites and users.

holy asdasd this is a lot of names lol

Too many colors.
I usually use clrs.cc that is a lot simpler.
