A harness is a shovel for the vibe coder

In my Facebook feed I see a lot of this: open source will take everything over and the vibe coders will vibe-code it all. There will be free open source resources, which have already taken over the Valley, and people just come in from India on Chinese LLMs.

And honestly, I think there is something to that thesis. Because even yours truly, who had not picked up a keyboard in a long time, learned to vibe-code, built himself a second brain and so on.

By the way, if anyone needs it explained how to do all of this properly in Claude and actually have your own co-founder-assistant, write to me in the comments.

So the vibe coders will take it all. And you will take it too, by the way, whoever is reading this. You are also a vibe coder who will contribute to this progress.

But, however, in the Valley software still raises something. Investors give money for a harness. So it turns out a harness is a shovel, right, for a vibe coder. That is, in a gold rush you sell shovels, and so harnesses collect the money.

What else collects? I need to think about that, of course. But the fact that soon you will be able to create any software at all with a single voice message... that is a dead certainty.

I am just curious.

And here is the question for my Claude: where should one move?

Well, the safest thing in a situation like this is to look for a job, which is what I am doing.

But my second idea is not only to look for a job, but also to do something offline.

Like, what could it be, making pizza, or one of my dreams, selling kombucha in the Valley.

But there is something else that is cool, everything connected with people.

Look, the most valuable thing right now is human attention, community and so on. In the Valley there are a lot of different people, Indians and Chinese and Russians, who have their own community, who organise meetups and so on.

The smartest thing is to organise meetups not for engineers, imagine that, but for CFOs, COOs, CEOs and so on. I have a lot of good acquaintances who do this, for example Murray Newland. He has become a real guru at it. And he makes, I think, 20 to 30K a month there, because sponsors need events like that.

Say you are raising a Series A or Series B, you need money, angels. Well, there you go, a dinner was organised and the money was collected. And say you sell a product for accountants, you need CFOs. So through him an evening like that was organised and you got users for your product.

So, in short, what I am saying right now is both soft skill and hard skill. If making the product is no longer the problem, selling it is still the problem. And having, owning an audience that can buy your product, or rather owning an audience, any audience that hangs on your every word, that is a good thing.

So if I have not been hired yet, I need to build a community. I would not say my posts let me gather a community, but something is still coming of it.

Right now my main task is to get users to take to that harness, not-harness, that I made.

And by the way, since we are here, if you read to the end. I am thinking now that one could start making friends with women on Facebook. Because women are usually the most grateful users. The most loyal, devoted and so on. Not the guys who are here today and somewhere else tomorrow.

So if you come in through teaching and teach women to use Claude, or ChatGPT, Codex, Grok and all the rest, then I think we get a large number of loyal users.

And yes, a focus on women seems like it could be very useful.
