I am very surprised by the Samsung ecosystem.
I walk around conferences in San Francisco. And yes, right now I have a Plaud, a voice recorder that records (with the consent of the people I am talking to, naturally) all the conversations, all our conversations and meetings.
As a backup I decided to build myself another portable recorder on top of Samsung and Omi, an open source framework, just as an experiment.
And for the first time in my life I bought myself a Samsung. For the first time in my life, imagine that, after roughly 20 years of using an iPhone, of the iPhone ecosystem. I have never in my life had an Android or a Samsung. Never.
So, I bought myself a tablet. Bought a tablet. I bought a tablet, a small tablet, the size of an iPad mini but much more powerful, with a good screen resolution and a sturdy body, so that you can carry it without a case and if it falls it will not break.
I was surprised at how well Android is made, everything inside is very smooth, very convenient and even properly intuitive.
Right now on the Android I have the Omi app, connected to an external microphone, a good quality microphone, and everything gets recorded no worse than with the Plaud, transcribed, picked up straight away by my Claude from the cloud, transcribed, put into the vault.
Very convenient, you can build a recorder for people who do not have enough money for a Plaud. Although, to be honest, this setup cost about three times more than a Plaud. 600 dollars for the tablet, plus a microphone, two microphones at 100 bucks each and so on. Well, who knows.
In any case, Plaud, I love Plaud more and more, because it really has paid for itself a great deal. The main thing is, he switched it on and forgot about it. That is worth a great deal, when you have things that you simply switch on and forget. Those things are really worth a great deal.
So there you go, my journey with Samsung, with Android and so on has begun.
And I want to say that maybe someone will advise me: do there exist any hacker firmwares, maybe for Samsung or for Android, firmwares that are somehow connected to agentic work? Could I somehow reflash my Samsung, and Android devices are easy to reflash after all, so that it is more AI-native and integrated into my work.
But in short, Samsung is a super cool thing. I think that I... More precisely, Android is a super cool thing. I think that I am now going to switch over to Android little by little.
In short, this thing is great. And I recommend Android to everyone in every way.
