We're not minting traditional NFTs on-chain (which would be expensive and public), but instead leveraging Monero's integrated address system and a custom off-chain certificate layer built with Node.js.

Here's how it works:

    Certificate Generation: When a user contributes a verified plant entry to the global map, our backend generates a cryptographic hash of the plant's metadata (species, location, timestamp, and contributor's Monero subaddress).

    Proof of Contribution: This hash is signed using the contributor's Monero private key (via monero-javascript library), creating a verifiable proof that doesn't expose the user's main wallet address.

    Off-Chain Storage: The certificate is stored in our MongoDB database, linked to the contributor's Monero subaddress. The hash is also written to a publicly verifiable log (similar to a transparency log) to prevent tampering β€” without revealing personal data.
