I've found that if I have regular time at a weekly or daily level I can devote that time to one of the following areas every session:
If you sustain doing this at a daily or weekly level, you can make progress on larger goals and make an impact in the community.
However, those big goals come from intentionality and working on things to prepare you for them, then taking them on.
For example, writing a book came about because I established my reputation as a technical writer through blogging on this and other platforms. Once I had the book opportunity, executing on it became a major focus in my daily "create" sessions.
Other things take lucky bounces, but those daily or weekly tasks set you up well to recieve the bounces when they occur.
Very educational thanks for sharing.
Sad But True:
I am from Turkey. We do not believe that any goal can be achieved in the Middle East as long as there is no nepotism. The first step is to reveal the goal. We calculate the money. After the benefit is clearly evident, we call Uncle Sam (in Turkey we call him Mustafa abi or Mehmet abi) who are on the path to this goal. If it happens, it happens, if not, we brew the tea and drink it.
One of the things I have found most helpful is just taking some time each week to sit down with my wife and talk about what we want to accomplish. On a personal level, I always write things down and then try to break them up into steps or pieces that I can move towards, but it helps to be on the same page as my spouse.
I'm a list guy, so lists are really helpful for me.
I think Yoda answers this best: "Do, or do not."
