Do you want to team up or just chat on Discord? I'm looking for someone to help me look for projects and maybe work together on projects.

Hi everyone, I'm Erez, a product designer who is passionate about creating a design tool that is built entirely on how things are done in code, for real. I know some HTML and CSS, enough to make do, but I'm curious and slightly afraid to start learning some proper Javascript and eventually one of the frameworks like React.

Knowing what you know now - what would be the single best resource to learn it for a person like me, who has never been a developer in other fields?

I bought the CourseCareers (online certification) course for Software Development. I got it on sale for 400 dollars last Black Friday, and it's been worth it. Definitely a mixed bag experience, but overall positive. I needed a little structure to keep going, so they've given me that. It's not perfect tho, I honestly don't know if it's what you need. Here's the link to CC: coursecareers.com/a/653ed4dd

One idea I've had, is that if you scroll through their promotional material, you should find a section where they have basically a Table of Contents, listing every topic the course covers (includes specializations, like Frontend vs backend) if you look through these different lists, you can basically create your own Study Guide, and find free resource, YT videos, etc to learn each topic independently. In some ways this is more difficult than purchasing a course, but in some ways it's probably better. Definitely a cool thought if you want to save the 750 tho.

Maybe you could check out FCC (Free Code Camp [just Google it]). They have great free courses and even free certificates. Their Discord community is also awesome.

Hello everyone! I am currently a final year computer science PhD at NTU, Singapore.
What I am working on:
Recently I’ve been working on AnyModal, a framework for integrating different data types (like images and audio) with LLMs. Existing tools felt too limited or task-specific, so I wanted something more flexible. AnyModal makes it easy to combine modalities with minimal setupβ€”whether it’s LaTeX OCR, image captioning, or chest X-ray interpretation.
You can plug in models like ViT for image inputs, project them into a token space for your LLM, and handle tasks like visual question answering or audio captioning. It’s still a work in progress, so feedback or contributions would be great.
