I'm the founder of Design Rivers Studios, where I'm building mobile apps and experimenting with new ideas as an indie developer.
I'm almost done with my first Android app, Torchly, a simple and modern flashlight app. I'm learning a lot along the way about Android development, product design, testing, and getting an app ready for launch.
I'm joining DEV to connect with other developers, share what I'm building, learn from the community, and hopefully document some of the journey along the way.

I'm a former auditor who caught the coding bug and made the full jump into dev, funny enough, spreadsheets and stack traces have more in common than I expected 😅. These days I split my time between backend dev (Java, Spring Boot, Quarkus) and frontend (Angular, TypeScript), with a soft spot for BI and functional analysis too.
Right now I'm building Touria, a tourism analytics platform, in collab with Calyps and on the side I'm teaching myself Rust, dipping into AI, and poking at cybersecurity basics (send help, or send resources 🙏).
I'm also on the hunt for my next role as a developer, ideally in Canada/Québec or French-speaking Europe. Excited to be part of this community, feel free to say hi, especially if you're also a career-switcher!

Hi! How's Rust been treating you? Did you have a hard time with understanding its concepts, given your other programming background?
Hi! It’s completely new to me and quite different from Java. Luckily, I enjoy learning new things! I’ve also noticed that the applications built with Rust are really fast and lightweight.
I think sticking with it will pay off, keep it up!

This is a really interesting use case. I took a look at Flozari, and one area I’d be curious about is how the automation pipeline handles scaling when there’s a sudden spike in comments, DMs, or webhook events.
I’d especially be interested in how you handle Meta API rate limits, retries/duplicate events, and queueing for high-volume interactions. I also think the balance between deterministic workflows and AI-generated responses is an interesting optimization problem — using predefined responses where possible while reserving AI for interactions that actually need contextual reasoning could help with both latency and inference costs.
I’ll keep exploring the platform, but those are some of the areas I’d be looking at first. Great work so far!
That makes a lot of sense. I particularly like the approach of keeping deterministic flows separate from AI-driven interactions rather than putting an LLM in the middle of every request.
One thing I'm curious about is how you handle queued events when they become stale. For example, if several comments or interactions come in during a spike and get queued, do you have any prioritization or expiration strategy so that an outdated interaction doesn't get processed after the context has already changed?
I'd be interested to hear how you approached that trade-off between reliability, latency, and maintaining the right conversation context.

Hi all. I run a few small businesses solo and hand most of the work to AI. I mostly write up what broke — index numbers, API bills, accounting bugs. Glad to be here.
Read your indexing post. Diagnosing the redirect loop, then spinning up a fresh blog and finding the exact same structure on every healthy Blogspot - that five-minute check is worth more than the other 80 posts.
I hit the same wall from the engagement side. For a while an agent of mine posted daily curated content to my channels. Flat zero, while the pieces written from my own work did all the numbers. Its job is distribution now, not writing.
One question about the rebuild: if the pipeline only writes what actually happened, who does it happen to?
