Hi Hadil! It's great to have you here!
Hello everyone! I am Andrew.
Originally from Ohio, I now reside in California for the time being, after 3 years in North Carolina, and 2 years in Japan before that! I currently work as an avionics electronics technician in the military, but will be changing my job to intelligence here soon.
I have always been incredibly fascinated by tech and computers, but as I am in my mid-twenties, I have more of a drive than ever to attempt to learn about how these things we call computers work and how I can add to the advancement of this technology. I am FAR from being a novice in this pursuit, and still consider myself a baby-beginner, as I've never fully escaped tutorial h*ll and have never taken on any projects of my own.
Any advice helps and I hope you follow me along my journey!
Warm regards,
Andrew
Hello, Andrew! I'm Thaísa and I'm a beginner too. I hope you find amazing articles here on DEV Community.
What field do you like more? Particularly, I like backend development and I'm starting to know a little bit more about data. We're here to help each other.
Hey Thaisa!
I've always been drawn to backend development. I consistently catch myself asking "What goes on after I press this button?" It's funny how much we think we know about the internet, but there is just so much out there. I am learning about HTTP and servers currently and as simple as this stuff might seem on the surface (HTTP, DNS, IP, client/server relationships) it is not! At least to me lol.
Stay in touch!
-Andrew
Sup Andrew. I started learning in my mid 30's. Also studied electronics before that, and am now studying Python a the moment. Welcome and good luck. Im also new here.
Way out of tutorialhell is simply do small projects. I can warmly recomend AOC (Advent Of Code). Its a page full of small puzzles.
Take care!
Hey pulltogg,
I never heard of AOC. I will definitely give them a look! Thanks for the follow and stay in touch, if you want!
-Andy

Hi folks! 👋 I'm a full-stack developer who likes to build websites and small tools just for fun (and sometimes because I’m too lazy to do things manually 😅). I also enjoy writing web crawlers—basically teaching my code to do the boring work for me. Excited to hang out here and learn from everyone!
... boring work for us. That's why all of us are here. 😅

Hey everyone! 👋
I'm Svetlina—a former developer turned program manager who still sneaks off to build things when no one's looking. I recently dove into the Google AI Studio Multimodal Challenge and couldn’t resist exploring how Gemini’s capabilities could be shaped into tools that help us think, move, and care a little smarter.
Here are the three applets I submitted (yes, I got carried away 😅):
🔹 The Algorithmic Conscience
A real-time ethical auditor that flags biases, logical fallacies, and groupthink—like a conscience with a PhD in philosophy and a knack for interrupting boardroom nonsense.
dev.to/svet_62385e9/the-algorithmi...
🔹 Real-Time Fitness Form Analysis
An AI-powered posture coach that analyzes movement and offers corrective feedback. Because your spine deserves better than whatever that last squat was.
dev.to/svet_62385e9/real-time-fitn...
🔹 Gemini’s Paw-sitive Insight
An empathetic assistant for pet wellness that detects signs of discomfort or illness from photos and videos. Basically, a vet with infinite patience and zero judgment.
dev.to/svet_62385e9/geminis-paw-si...
Each one uses Gemini’s multimodal magic in a different way—and I’d love to hear what you think! Feedback, questions, or pet pics welcome 🐾

hey! great to be here! Can't believe I'm only just finding out about this place!
I've been building with AI for the last year. I'm less interested in building things that already exist, or that humans enjoy doing and excel at (art, writing, movies, music...). I'd rather try to come up with stuff that improves life for as many people as possible and doesn't destroy the earth in the process!

Hey everyone,
My name is Arihant, I go by Ari its just easier on everyone, I am currently 3 classes away from graduating with my masters in Computer Science. However, I did my bachelors in Microbiology and worked for 1 year in a hospital laboratory before transitioning to computer science. I have been learning how to code since the end of 2023 and would consider myself to be pretty competent now for someone with no previous background in the field.
I joined this website because my masters program is online so its a bit difficult to make friends/groups outside of our zoom classes especially since I am a minority in the Masters program considering my background and the fact that I am in my mid 20s, not married, and not working full time while doing school.
So I was hoping if anyone else can relate to my situation where they either cannot find other people or maybe its just something that interests you. But I would like a few like minded people to form a group with me so that we could all meet up and work on an opensource project we make together preferably in C#.
People I am looking for:
Hey All, I'm Bos (short for Boswell)
I’m a Computer Engineering graduate who pivoted into full-stack software engineering about four years ago. Since then, I’ve worked across multiple startups, where I learned the fast-paced side of building products and also ran head-first into one of the biggest headaches in the industry: infrastructure deployments. Those years showed me that shipping features is only half the battle—the other half is making sure environments stay consistent, configs don’t drift, and “it works on my machine” doesn’t become the blocker everyone dreads.
Over time, I found myself drawn deeper into the world of servers and terminals. I turned my home lab into a mini-cloud, running Dockerized apps, reverse proxies, and CI/CD pipelines, experimenting with how far I could push production-grade setups on my own hardware. I love living in the terminal, building systems that feel clean and efficient, and finding ways to make the developer experience smoother.
Right now, I’m building Bento, a stack-aware CLI tool that spins up production-ready development environments in minutes. Think of it as a meal kit for software stacks—consistent, portable, and team-friendly. It’s my way of turning the pain points I’ve seen firsthand into something practical and empowering for other developers.
I’m here to share that journey, swap stories about dev life, and connect with people who are just as fascinated by building, scaling, and tinkering as I am. 🚀
Hey everyone! I’m Brian from Zambia.
I’m really into tech and web development, and I joined this community to connect, learn, and share ideas with others on the same journey.
Fun fact: I’m definitely a night owl 🌙—I seem to do my best thinking when it’s way past bedtime. Excited to be here! 🚀
Hello everyone, I'm new in this world, and I'm very excited to start working on real projects, been using Ai builder to create websites I have worked for 5 clients and it all vent very well!
I can read the source code and make some changes my self too, but i can't create noting from scratch.
I'm happy to be here I hope I can come back soon and comment here again saying that now Im a developer!
I feel an adrenaline rush of excitement as I officially begin my journey to becoming a seasoned software developer. As I begin my toddler phase, I kindly seek support to be mentored, or even an accountability partner will do. I'm beginning my journey with The Odin Project.

👋 Hey, I’m Adeolu (aka Adools) — a 15-year-old builder, designer, and curious tech explorer.
I love turning small, everyday frustrations into simple tools and fun projects.
I tinker with web development, UI/UX design, and AI experiments, and I’m passionate about creating things that feel clean, useful, and a little bit playful.
SecureGen is one of those “scratch my own itch” projects — I built it because I was tired of clunky password generators, and I figured others might feel the same.
When I’m not coding, I’m usually sketching new ideas, learning something new, or imagining future tech that feels straight out of sci-fi 🚀.
