found some naive usages of dynamodb on a production app that were causing an incredible amount of Read Capacity Units and by making a few changes (described in this post brought rcu down from 50K to about 500. 🚀💪🤓
Someone handed me a small novel problem to code up a small "Chaos Monkey" style prog, so I got given 2-3 days to code something up in Go that will just wreck stuff for fun in order test basic infra resiliency.
I got my Graduate Certificate in Data Analytics! Also, I moved out of a role with grace, prepped for the new one, and made significant progress towards course and book deals on major platforms.
I started a new project – developer utilities.
I even have a few people using it so very happy with the progress!
Working on making the design prettier and will share it with more people next week.
Finally got some shopify code working with Spring Boot. Still trying to get the damn app embed block working. Ugh.
Spoke at a meetup and two conferences (May/June are just loaded with all of these).
Made a comment on Reddit and supported it with a link to a video where I go into more details. I got back a detailed response explaining why I misunderstood the video. Apparently the guy in the video (me) was talking about something else...
Rounded up my tasks for this month's sprint a couple days early so I was able to have a bit more time to myself 😁
