👋 Hey, Dev.to!
I'm Divy — a backend developer who fell down the AI rabbit hole and never quite climbed back out.
A year ago, I was building APIs, writing database queries, and living a peaceful life. Then I discovered LLMs, and everything changed.
I learned LangChain. Then LangGraph. Then CrewAI. Then AutoGen. I studied every type of memory. I built RAG pipelines. I wrote prompts that were longer than some of my actual code files.
And after all that?
The LLM still hallucinated.
I kept starting projects with excitement and abandoning them with frustration. My GitHub became a graveyard of half-finished chatbots and broken pipelines.
The Turning Point
Then I realized something that changed how I think about AI:
Frameworks are plumbing. They connect pipes. But if the water is dirty, better pipes won't give you clean water.
The problem was never the framework. It was my entire approach. I was treating the LLM as a knowledge database when it's actually a reasoning engine. I was optimizing prompts when I should have been engineering context. I was chasing tools when I should have been designing systems.
So I started over — with a systems-first mindset. And things finally started working. What I Write About
I'm here to share what I've learned — the stuff tutorials don't teach:
- 🔍 RAG & Retrieval — Why vector databases aren't always the answer, hybrid search, reranking
- 🧠 LLM Reliability — Making AI outputs trustworthy enough to ship
- 🏗️ Systems Design for AI — Building around the LLM's weaknesses, not pretending they don't exist
- 💀 What Doesn't Work — The frameworks, patterns, and "best practices" that failed me
- 🚀 Building AI Products — The gap between "cool demo" and "people actually use this" No hype. No sponsored framework reviews. Just real lessons from someone who's been stuck, frustrated, and slowly figuring it out. ## My First Article I recently published my first article on Medium and it resonated with a lot of developers: I Learned Every AI Framework. My LLM Still Hallucinated. Here's What Actually Works. I'll be cross-posting my articles here on Dev.to going forward, so you won't miss anything. ## Let's Connect! I'm not here to broadcast — I'm here to learn from this community too. If you're building with AI, I'd love to hear:
- What are you building?
- What's your biggest frustration with LLMs?
