I'm building Sainteur, a free markets news site. It's a work in progress, and I wanted to share what I'm aiming for and what I've learned so far.
The idea
Most markets news I read is either paywalled, buried under sign-up prompts, or full of hype. Sainteur covers equities, crypto, startups, macro and politics in one place, with a few rules:
- Sources linked under every story, so you can check the claim yourself.
- Prices are time-stamped, because a number without a time is meaningless in markets.
- Open corrections when something is wrong.
- No paywall, no sign-up, no "buy now" calls.
There's also an RSS feed at sainteur.com/rss.xml if you'd rather read it in a feed reader.
What's next
The plan is for each story to be readable, listenable and watchable, so you can switch formats depending on whether you're at a desk or commuting.
Feedback welcome
If you read markets news, I'd love to hear what makes a news site worth coming back to for you, and what makes you close the tab. Comments are open.
I'm Emiliano, on X as @emilianooo.
