I Built OfficeClone: A Free, Privacy-First Web Office Suite with Built-in AI

Today I'm excited to share a project I've been working on: OfficeClone — a free, lightweight, and privacy-focused office suite that runs entirely in your web browser.

💡 Why I Built It

Most modern office tools require expensive monthly subscriptions, heavy desktop installations, or store your private documents on third-party servers.

Coming from a software development and civil engineering background, I wanted to build an alternative that gives full control back to the user:

  • Zero Server Retention: Your documents, spreadsheets, and PDFs are processed locally on your device. Nothing is saved or tracked on external servers.
  • 100% Free & Ad-Free: No paywalls, no intrusive ads, and no mandatory registration.
  • Runs Everywhere (PWA): Works smoothly on Windows, Linux, Mac, tablets, and phones directly from the browser, with PWA support.

📦 What is Included in OfficeClone?

Instead of separate tools, OfficeClone unifies 6 core productivity apps in one clean hub:

  1. WordClone: Rich-text document editor with real A4 pagination, formatting ribbons, official DOCX import/export, and AI contract drafting.
  2. ExcelClone: Spreadsheet editor with real-time formulas, charts, CSV/XLSX support, and AI formula generation in English and Portuguese.
  3. PointClone: Slide creator with modern layouts, speaker notes, and AI-powered pitch deck generation.
  4. ProjectClone: Complete project manager featuring interactive Gantt charts, WBS task breakdown, and critical path tracking (MS Project style).
  5. FreePDF: Fast client-side PDF toolkit to merge, split, compress, and interact with PDF files.
  6. KeepAi: Smart note-taking scratchpad with contextual AI research and organization.
