I built a pre-game scouting report for five-stacks using the Riot API

Five-stack players usually have five OP.GG tabs open before queueing. I wanted one shareable page instead, so I built FiveScout.

You enter five Riot IDs and get a single report with:

  • current rank and recent 10-game form
  • champion pools and role tendencies
  • a threat score for each player
  • role clashes inside your own team
  • ban suggestions based on what the opposing five actually win with

It supports Riot's direct regions only: KR, EUW, NA, TW, JP. No Chinese/Tencent servers.

How it works

The stack is Next.js 15 (App Router) + Postgres + a long-running worker.

  1. The web app validates the five Riot IDs and inserts a job row.
  2. The worker claims the job with FOR UPDATE SKIP LOCKED.
  3. It calls the official Riot API for account, rank, and recent matches, plus Data Dragon for static data.
  4. The report is computed and stored, so the share URL stays stable.

Rate-limit handling and report readability were the two hardest parts. A report is only useful if you can scan it in under a minute before the game starts.

What it deliberately does not do

  • No memory reading or game automation
  • No hidden-MMR estimation
  • No raw Riot data dumps for sale
  • No betting features

Only the official Riot API and Data Dragon are used.

Free tier and pricing

  • Free: 1 report per week
  • Pro: $7/month for unlimited reports

Feedback I am especially interested in: which pre-game signal you actually use, and what you would remove from the report.
