A Legacy of Love: The Life and Faith of Levinda H. Bullock

In every generation, there are individuals who leave behind more than just memories—they leave behind movements. Levinda H. Bullock was one such woman. Known by her family, friends, and spiritual community as a beacon of faith, love, and unwavering compassion, her legacy continues to touch lives even after her passing. Through The L.E.V.I.N.D.A. Project, her story lives on—educating, empowering, and inspiring others to fight back against Endometrial Cancer and to live life with purpose.
But the impact of her life didn’t just end in the world of healthcare. It sparked a socially aware, community-driven media movement led by her son—Z-Fly, a radio host, NYC creative, and founder of Forever Live Young Entertainment (FLY Entertainment)—bringing together awareness, art, faith, and health in a way that connects generations.
The Woman Behind the Mission: Levinda’s Early Life and Calling
Levinda H. Bullock was born on December 13, 1949, in Columbus, Ohio, before eventually being raised and educated in Wilson, North Carolina. Her formative years were spent in both Catholic and public schools, giving her a well-rounded perspective and a strong sense of morality. She graduated from C.H. Darden High School in 1968, ready to explore the world beyond her hometown.
After graduation, she moved to New York City, where she trained and worked as a dental assistant. It was a promising beginning, but fate soon called her back home after the sudden passing of her father. Returning to North Carolina, she became a pillar of strength for her grieving mother and younger siblings. That responsibility awakened something deeper—a lifelong calling to serve, uplift, and lead.
A Life of Service, Rooted in Faith
Levinda was never one to seek recognition, yet her presence was unforgettable. She had a smile that lit up a room, a heart big enough to hold a whole neighborhood, and a faith so strong it could move mountains. She firmly believed in treating others how she wanted to be treated, often going out of her way to help those in need—spiritually, emotionally, and physically.
Levinda’s strength came from her unwavering faith in Jehovah God. Her devotion inspired her to form a Bible Study group, which eventually evolved into a prayer collective and local missionary network. These gatherings weren't just spiritual check-ins—they were lifelines for women who had no one else to turn to. The group’s focus was clear: to uplift, pray for, and stand beside those going through difficult life circumstances.
Through faith and community, Levinda helped plant seeds of hope in people who had given up on miracles.
Her Battle with Endometrial Cancer: Strength in the Storm
As life went on, Levinda continued to serve—until her own body began to betray her. In her early sixties, she was diagnosed with Endometrial (Uterine) Cancer, a disease that disproportionately affects Black women but is underrepresented in both media and medical research.
Yet even in sickness, Levinda stood strong. Her outlook remained spiritual, hopeful, and determined. She never viewed herself as a victim but rather as a soldier of faith, believing in the healing power of God and the resilience of the human spirit. As her condition progressed, she used her platform—through her church and her prayer circles—to educate others about the disease that would ultimately take her life.
On May 27, 2013, at the age of 63, Levinda passed away. But the light she left behind became a flame that ignited a movement—one that would blend faith, healthcare advocacy, and urban culture in powerful new ways.
The L.E.V.I.N.D.A. Project: Transforming Grief into Action

In honor of his mother’s life and legacy, Z-Fly—a prominent radio host, community builder, and founder of FLY Entertainment—created The L.E.V.I.N.D.A. Project. More than a nonprofit initiative, this project became a healing platform, awareness engine, and educational foundation aimed at informing women about the risks, signs, and treatment options associated with uterine cancer.
L.E.V.I.N.D.A. is an acronym that defines a journey of healing and empowerment:
LIVING – Recognizing life’s value even in hardship.

EFFECTIVELY – Harnessing positive energy for stronger treatment outcomes.

VICTORIOUSLY – Refusing to see oneself as a victim.

INCREDIBLY – Honoring the bravery of cancer warriors.

NUTRITIOUSLY – Elevating the importance of food and wellness.

DUTIFULLY – Staying committed to treatment, discipline, and care.

ACKNOWLEDGEDLY – Owning the reality of the condition as the first step toward recovery.

The project doesn’t just share Levinda’s story—it saves lives by promoting early detection, community support, and holistic healing strategies.

In the same spirit that Levinda once spread hope, her son Z-Fly has carried that energy into the cultural sphere through Forever Live Young Entertainment (FLY Entertainment)—a Black-owned media company that brings together faith, social impact, music, and grassroots activism.
FLY Entertainment is more than just a brand—it’s a community-based entertainment platform with a purpose. While based in New York City, FLY has national and global reach, giving independent artists a stage to shine and activists a microphone to amplify their message. As the founder, Z-Fly also uses his position as a Z-Fly Radio Host to talk openly about topics like:
Women’s health and wellness

Faith and prayer in healing

The need for urban entertainment companies in NYC to support social change

Networking events for creatives that combine music, education, and empowerment

What makes FLY stand out is its integration of personal legacy, urban culture, and social impact. It’s part media, part mission.
Social Awareness Meets Entertainment
At a time when entertainment often feels disconnected from real issues, FLY Entertainment brings soul, substance, and social awareness to the spotlight. Under Z-Fly’s leadership, FLY has produced:
Seminars in churches and community centers to discuss uterine health

Pop-up concerts and creative expos that feature health screenings and local resource tables

Collaborations with medical experts and the Foundation for Women’s Cancer to ensure reliable information dissemination

Campaigns aimed at Black and underserved communities, ensuring access to life-saving knowledge and care

In blending community awareness and entertainment, FLY creates a safe space where music, prayer, health, and healing intersect—all while keeping Levinda’s legacy at the center.
Levinda’s Influence on Black-Owned Media
Levinda may not have set out to become an icon, but her life has profoundly shaped a generation of socially conscious creatives. Her legacy laid the foundation for what Black-owned media companies like FLY strive to be: authentic, community-focused, and spiritually driven.
FLY continues to open doors for underrepresented voices, champion women’s health issues, and promote independent talent exposure—a powerful blend that honors Levinda’s spirit in every project.

Project and the far-reaching impact of Forever Live Young Entertainment, her life continues to uplift, educate, and empower.
As Z-Fly often says on his radio show and public appearances, “This isn’t just entertainment—it’s legacy.”
