Apple Cuts Over 200 Jobs Across Siri AI and Vision Pro Teams

Apple is cutting more than 200 jobs across its Siri, AI, and Vision Pro teams as the company shifts its focus towards newer technology and future products.

Around 100 of the affected roles are linked to Vision Pro, while another 100 are connected to Siri and related software teams.

Apple is also scaling back its Vision Pro gaming and immersive video work.

Still, this does not mean Apple is giving up on Siri or AI. The company is rebuilding Siri with more advanced AI features and continues to hire people for Siri and machine-learning roles.

The changes to Vision Pro are more noticeable.

Apple is reducing its focus on gaming and immersive video, which can be costly to develop and have not yet reached a large audience.

At the same time, Apple is still expected to work on future spatial-computing products.

The company may also explore lighter wearable devices, such as smart glasses.

Overall, the job cuts seem to be more about changing priorities than reducing Apple's overall focus on AI.

The company is moving resources towards advanced AI, a smarter Siri, and future wearable technology.
