Apple may have accidentally given us a closer look at its upcoming camera-equipped AirPods.
A video found in the macOS Tahoe 26.7 release candidate shows unreleased AirPods using Visual Intelligence to understand what the wearer is looking at.
The cameras don’t seem to be made for taking regular photos or videos.
Instead, they could help Siri understand objects and things around you, and even remember useful information for later.
Apple’s software refers to the device by the codename B790.
In the leaked video, the AirPods look similar to AirPods Pro, but they appear slightly thicker with longer stems, possibly to make room for the new camera hardware.
Apple has not confirmed these AirPods or announced a launch date yet. However, reports suggest that the device could arrive as early as September 2026.
If Apple does release them, AirPods could become more than just a device for listening to music and taking calls. Siri may be able to understand what you are seeing along with what you are asking.
